Volunteer Registration Form
Please download the registration form by clicking on the Download File icon above. Complete the form and mail (PO Box 274) or deliver it to the Shop. Volunteer Registration forms are also available at the Thrift Shop. Here are some of the questions you will be asked on the form:
Are you are a year round resident or a seasonal resident? What day or days you are available for volunteering? The Shop is open Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 10:00 - 1:00 . Summer Saturday hours are 10 - 1 AM Shift, and 1 - 3:30 PM shift. The Shop is closed Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Volunteering for Retail Shop? - please select one or more: Sales Person/Cashier Selling, handling cash & checks only, counting proceeds and recording sales. Floor Monitor Greeting shoppers, maintaining maximum limit of customers in shop, assisting shoppers, helping with general closing activities as in returning hangars, etc. For Backroom tasks (sorting, pricing, stocking, cleaning, etc.) indicate the days you are available to volunteer. It's usually a two hour shift starting at 9:00 a.m. You may select one or more of these days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Why volunteer?Volunteering at Lopez Thrift Shop helps the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you. Volunteering can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose. While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day. Giving just 3 hours a month can help the Shop and and at the same time improve your health and happiness. The Lopez Thrift Shop has approximatlely 60 volunteers currently giving of their time and expertise. Volunteer opportunities are wide and varied at the Shop including shifts at the retail desk, customer service , and processing donated goods. We also put to use the special talents which experienced volunteers bring such as store development, transportation of goods, and administrative help. The store managers are happy to give you a tour and explore how you might find just the right activity for you. It's lots of fun. Some of us refer to it as our "social" time. | ||
